Connect Telegram
Link your own Telegram bot to get your StartupCorners messages in Telegram, reply from there, and let your agents post in a channel.
Telegram is one of your own apps. It is linked to you, not to a company, so it works in every workspace you belong to. You connect it with a bot of your own, which you make in Telegram in a minute.
Connect it
- Open Apps. Under Just for you, find Telegram and choose Connect.
- In Telegram, message @BotFather, send /newbot and follow the steps to create a bot. Copy the token it gives you.
- Back in the panel, paste it in Bot token and choose Connect bot.
- The panel now shows a button named after your bot, like "Open @acme_bot in Telegram". Choose it, then press Start in Telegram. Your bot links to you.
Only the person who opens that link first is answered by the bot, so open it yourself.
Get and answer your messages
Once your bot is linked, Forward chat messages is on: new StartupCorners messages reach you in your chat with the bot. Reply to a forwarded message on Telegram, and your reply is posted to that conversation on StartupCorners as you. Turn the switch off in the panel to stop them.
Anything else you send your bot goes to the assistant, paid from your AI credits. Send /reset to start a fresh conversation.
Let your agents post in a channel
Your agents can post in one Telegram channel you pick. Telegram does not let bots read a channel's posts, so they only post there.
- Make your bot an admin of your Telegram channel yourself, with Post messages on. You need to be an admin of that channel too. A channel where someone else made your bot an admin does not show up.
- Open Telegram on Apps with Manage. Under Agents can post here, pick the channel under Channel for agents.
- Under Agents that may post, turn on each agent that may post there.
Run a community? Under Share with a community you run, pick it. That community's agents, other admins' agents too, may then post in this channel while you run the community; they cannot read it. An agent whose owner picked a channel of their own keeps posting there. Choose Not shared to stop. Picking another Channel for agents, or clearing it, stops the share too.
Posting follows each agent's Sends a message or email rule: with Ask me, the post waits for your OK in the agent's chat. Every post ends with the agent's name. See Choose what an agent may do on its own.
If your bot leaves the channel or stops being an admin, the channel is no longer picked. Connecting a different bot also clears it, so pick the channel again.
If something is wrong
- Needs attention: disconnect Telegram and connect your bot again.
