Defence, AI and fintech dominated the funding news on November 2, 2026, with a large new European fund arriving alongside the deals. Here is the day's recap, grouped by stage.
Growth rounds and Series B
The biggest cheque of the day went to defence. Smaller rounds in AI and fintech followed.
- Hypersonica: 100M euros Series B, co-led by Lightspeed and General Catalyst. The British-German company develops hypersonic long-range missiles and is headquartered in Munich. It follows a 23M euro Series A from February.
- Trajectory: $45M to make AI model training accessible to nontechnical experts. The one-year-old startup is now valued at $300M. Lead investor was not stated in the item.
Series A
- LO:TECH: $12M Series A led by MMC. The London-based firm builds trading infrastructure for round-the-clock and onchain markets.
- Clinics On Cloud: $13M Series A from Dubai-based Model42. The Pune-based healthtech company will expand its connected microclinic network and strengthen its AI capabilities.
- PowerUp Money: $10M led by Flourish Ventures. The Bengaluru wealthtech company will build out its AI-powered wealth management platform. Existing investors including Peak XV Partners and Accel also took part.
- Two Point O Capital: $10M led by Transition Venture Capital. It is a clean energy deployment platform for commercial and industrial businesses.
Seed and pre-seed
- Gallium Defense: 7M euros seed, led by Keen Venture Partners and 360 Capital. The French startup emerged from stealth with the GDS-10 radar, designed to detect FPV drones up to 10 kilometres away.
- Roleo: 3M euros, led by Practica Capital. The Estonian startup builds a personal AI career agent for tech professionals. It was founded by a Veriff co-founder.
- Marble: $3.75M pre-seed, co-led by Heartcore and Seedcamp. The Munich-based startup builds AI coworkers that learn business processes before automating them.
Fund news
European early-stage VC Creandum closed Fund VIII at $750M, its largest ever. It will back founders at seed and Series A, with half of the capital reserved for new investments and the rest for follow-ons. The firm expects to invest heavily in AI.
What today signals
The mix points in two directions. Defence startups are drawing large, concentrated cheques from US investors, and AI keeps showing up across nearly every stage, from pre-seed agents to a newly valued $300M training company. At the same time, the fund news is encouraging for early-stage founders, since Creandum is committing fresh capital to seed and Series A. Still, Crunchbase data cited today suggests record venture spending in 2026 is going to fewer, larger rounds, so small teams should not read one big fund as a sign that early cheques are easy. My read: capital is available, but it rewards clear focus and a story that is easy to explain.
