Give an agent a routine

A routine is a job an agent does on a schedule, like a weekly investor follow-up. Add one, run it now, pause it or change it.

A routine tells an agent what to do and when. An agent can have up to 10 routines.

Add a routine

  1. Open Agents and pick the agent.
  2. In the panel beside its chat, open Details. Under Routines, choose Add routine.
  3. Give it a Title, then write what the agent should do. A sentence or two is enough (at least 10 characters).
  4. Under How often, pick Every day, Weekdays, Every week or Every month. For a weekly routine, pick the Day. For a monthly one, pick the Day of the month (1 to 28).
  5. Set the Time and choose Save routine.

The routine runs at that time in your own time zone. You can also ask the agent in its chat, for example "every Monday at 9, sum up my week".

When it runs

The agent works on its own and posts the result in its chat, and you get a notification. Pages it writes go to its Library. What it may change follows its rules: with Ask me, the change waits for your OK in the chat (see Choose what an agent may do on its own).

Each run is paid from your AI credits. A routine pauses itself when you run out of credits, or when three scheduled runs in a row fail. Turn it back on with its switch.

If the agent has a daily limit and has reached it, a scheduled run is skipped and the chat says so, and Run now is refused until the next day.

Run, pause, change or remove a routine

  • The switch beside a routine pauses it or turns it back on.
  • The menu beside it has Run now, Edit and Remove.
  • Or ask in the chat, for example "run it now" or "move it to Tuesdays".
